aug in a nutshell

i've realized my life has been rather hectic. Many times I have been wanting to stop and write down my thoughts, but never have the time! Then when I find time, what I had originally wanted to write doesn't seem as important anymore :( I have been neglecting to write letters to a friend and I feel terrible. I made a point to keep a notebook with me when I work but then I am either so tired or so busy running around that I don't have a chance to write more than a sentence here and there. I started writing back in July, meaning to finish up in a day or two. It is now the middle of Aug...ahhh...terrrrrible!!

July was full of flying nonstop...167 hrs to be exact! That is the most I have ever flown in my entire career in one month! LOL. After flying so much I just needed to get away from passengers...really needed to have a vacation. Where I don't have to direct or reprimand passengers for not following safety onboard and get frustrated when they pretend they don't hear you. Ugh. Passengers these days are terrible! Don't get me wrong, here and there I get some great passengers that fly all the time so they know how it is like. It's the ones that don't understand what flying means. They think that by constantly pressing on the Flight Attendant EMERGENCY call button when the seat belt sign is on that they can keep asking for drinks and blankets or forms etc...those are not life threatening and can wait. So annoying sometimes!

So here I am finally on a vacation...drove since i refuse to step back on a plane for my vacation lol...Orlando is hot and humid...with scattered t-storms and showers...for the better part of the last two days that we have been at the park, the weather has held up to a certain extent. Today it was just pouring like crazy.

We were at the Live, Motors, Action Show at Disney's Hollywood Studios. It is held outdoors since they show car chases and the audience sits in an outdoor stadium with bleachers and an overhang above. We kind of sat towards the end of the left side of the stadium to watch the show. It was hot and muggy and there was a huge storm cloud quickly approaching. gulp. We saw the beginning act and then it started to rain. The family sitting in front of us whipped out their ponchos so they were decently okay. Unfortunately, we didn't have any cover ups so we were starting to get soaked. The rain was starting to come down harder and it was coming down sideways! I leaned over and looked towards my right. WTH! Right in the middle of the row of bleachers where we were sitting was a wide open space enough to seat at least 10 ppl!!! The ppl sitting above had propped their feet on top so no one else could sit there. Okay. The old me would have probably said nothing and just sat there and get soaked. Well, not the me now. I asked the kid sitting next to me if they could scoot over because we were getting soaked. Now there is a difference between getting sprinkled on and getting full blown soaked, not to mention thunder and lightning to boot. I can handle getting sprinkled a bit. I cannot, however, handle getting soaked with a chance of getting hit by lightning. The kid said they had tried but the ppl just ignored them and would not move their feet.
I don't know if it is because of the industry I now work in and have to deal with ppl all the time, but that really ticked me off. So rude and selfish these tourist ppl are!!
I got up and leaned over so they could see me and I yelled, "Hey! Can you guys move your feet so that we can move over?! We are getting soaked here and there is plenty of space! Thanks!" Now that everyone's attention was centered on me and the ppl I was directing my comment on, those ppl had no choice but to move their nasty ass feet so that we could scoot over. I swear I moved a whole country over, there was just that much space. I was pretty pissed but I kept my smile on. Rude ass ppl! I get them onboard and now while on vacation I still run into them?~ At least I think I was capable of putting the situation into my own hands. With an audience staring, I know I shamed those bastards well! The funny thing was, I had only been directing my comment on my row, since I had seen that huge unoccupied space (except by nasty ass feet!) but the three rows above me all moved to allow those ppl sitting near the edge to also scoot in and avoid some heavy downpour. :) I was kind of surprised cuz there was like a wave of movement after. heehee. Later, I asked Justin if I had sounded like a bitch, because I had felt a little bit overwhelmed after I had made my speech, lightheaded and dizzy. LOL. He said that I had helped other ppl get out of the rain and that I shamed those rude ass ppl so no I did not sound like a bitch. I was pleasant but also in control. :) I wish I could have taken a pic of the moment LOL.

When that incident occurred was a moment that I know I am not how I used to be. I feel like my personality has gotten to be more open and I am not as shy as I used to be. I do wonder if it is due to my current job position...LOL
